Lisa comes to Rebuilding Together Oakland | East Bay from Action Alliance for Children where she served as executive director and as editor-in-chief of their publications Children’s Advocate | Defensor de los Niños | 兒童的倡議者. Previously, she was director of the Global Healthy Child Care Project funded by the IBM Global Work/Life Fund in partnership with her organization International Child Resource Institute where she held the position of Associate Executive Director and COO. The project implemented skills training and interventions for parents, childcare providers and in-home caregivers in 6 countries – Argentina, Brazil, China, India, South Africa and Spain.
While Vice President of Children Care Action Campaign, Lisa developed “Child Care and Equality: A Dialogue on the Societal Value for Care, ” a series of six think tank meetings held around the nation gathering economists, sociologists, labor leaders, medical professionals, early childhood experts, government officials, and parents to find common ground on the issue of care. She also directed the pilot project “Talk Reach Read!” created to develop literacy-rich environments for children from birth through eight years of age.
In 1997 as content director for the Working Mother Work|Family Conference she collaborated with the US Department of Education to create the CEO Summit on the “Corporate Imperative for Involvement in Education” and a white paper of the same name.
Lisa has provided technical assistance and consultation to a wide variety of national and international partner organizations, businesses, governments, non-profits and others interested in NGO governance, strategic planning, development, and communications. She holds a J.D. from New York Law School and received a B.S. in mass communications from Boston University.
