Lisa Shulman Malul, JD, Executive Director

​Before Rebuilding Together Oakland Lisa was the executive director and editor-in-chief for Action Alliance for Children. Prior to that, she was director of the Global Healthy Child Care Project funded by the IBM Global Work/Life Fund in partnership with her organization International Child Resource Institute where she held the position of Associate Executive Director and COO. 
While Vice President of Children Care Action Campaign, Lisa developed “Child Care and Equality: A Dialogue on the Societal Value for Care”, a series of six meetings held around the nation involving economists, sociologists, labor leaders, medical professionals, government officials, and parents to find common ground on the issue of care. She also directed the project “Talk Reach Read!” which helped develop literacy-rich environments for children at birth until the age of eight. 
In 1997 she worked as content director for the Working Mother Work|Family Conference where she collaborated with the US Department of Education. Lisa currently holds a J.D. from New York Law School and received a B.S. in mass communications from Boston University.

Board Chair, Jay Hagglund, Cushman & Wakefield
Jay Hagglund is currently the Executive Managing Director at Cushman & Wakefield. Prior to his start there in 1996, he worked at CB commercial real estate from 1991 to 1996, Cornish and Carey Commercial from 1986 to 1991, McMatser & Westland from 1985 to 1986. He currently holds a B.S. in Urban Land Economics for University of California, Berkeley.

​Corporate Secretary, Mike Adams, Huntleigh Development
Mike Adams is the President and founder of Huntleigh Development, inc which he founded in 1999. Prior to this he worked as a real estate broker for Cushman Wakefield and then was offered a position to oversee the real estate requirements and assets in the Northwest US for Sherwin Williams paint company. He continued on with Sherwin Williams and came to manage Sherwin Williams' real estate interests throughout the western United States. Mr. Adams has a bachelor degree of science from the University of California, Berkeley.

Richard Tong, Presidio Bank 
Richard Tong has served on the board and as a volunteer for Rebuilding Together Oakland since 1997. As he joined RTO he was also acting as the Senior Vice President and Commercial Markets Area Manager where he and his teams netted 1 billion dollars. In 2002 he was appointed as the Senior Vice President and Regional Banking Manager at City National Bank. While there he controlled twelve Bay Area offices ranging from San Francisco to  San Jose. Along with RTO Mr. Tong also volunteers with guide dogs for the blind. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of California, Berkeley.

Elizabeth Swift, PhD, Bridge Bank
Elizabeth Swift, PhD, started as construction lender for Bridge Bank in 2016 and is now the Vice President and Relationship Manager. Prior to that she worked at three other banks, US Bank, Mechanics Bank and F&M Bank, specializing in commercial real estate. In 2016 she served as the President of CREW East Bay, which strives to advance women in the global commercial real estate industry. Ms. Swiftcurrently holds a B.A. from University of Virginia and an M.A. and Ph.D. from University of New Mexico.

​Lucie Johnova, Program Manager
Lucie is currently the manager of the San Leandro home rehabilitation program. Prior to RTO she lived in the Czech Republic and at only 19 she worked for a prominent law firm in Prague. She moved to the US in 2004 and with over 20 years of project and real estate management she joined RTO in February of 2018. Lucie holds a degree from the School of Business and Commerce, Olomouc.
